sons of their farthers
son of the papers
daughters of the famous
daughters of favours
scars of the unsaid
headaches from hoping
red hands from pushing
cuts from the coping
seraphim and seramin
fumes from the engine
drink from the tap
river’s never ending
death from the choking
high from the vapours
butchers and bakers
and candlestick makers
sons of the bass bin
not much more here
i ain’t for the righteous
i’ll pay for the new fear
son of the flashman
you see i ain’t joking
born out of hard work
the fire needed stoking
profit from planning
and stealing and trying
son of the shires
those immigrant friends
sponsor it all
the plans never ending
ready for the fire
this love that were sending
shit from the sewer
water and rainbows
part own your own skin
tatoo all your wanting
sons of the fathers
sons of the papers
daughters will dance like
the takers and fakers
love it to take
love me to steal
put your foot on the road jack
and your back to the wheel
sons of the bass bin
not much more here
i ain’t for the righteous
i’m to much in fear
hold on to it all
in the circle you build
sons of the history
which got stolen and filled
daughter of dragon fire
down in the market
anger from street rage
know where to park it
ezekiel’s exile
and babylon’s angels
roads of excess
palaces of wisdom
snooker hall bar room
the kingdom of kings
corner of bradbury
getting ready to sing
son of the fishman
hannah his wife
cards were to fast
cost him a life
cash the night in
go take your token
put us back together friend
all fractured and broken
down to the city gates
rodinsky and munrow
hetty king and mari Lloyd
bills that chime to slow

My god, what an absolutely incredible Suite. I'll admit, I've struggled to get into Pharoah Sanders due to diving headfirst into some of his most challenging catalogue and that never worked. This is the perfect place to restart. Floating Points is new for me and I can honestly say I've never heard synthesizer music this lush and organic before. the LSO is just perfect. This is one of those albums that any serious music fan needs in their life. The perfect swan song for the great Pharaoh! 5/5 ClassyMusicSnob

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
